Voluminous Mascara by L'ORÉAL has been a very hyped mascara and as a person that love to try find a good mascara I of course went out and bought it when I found it on sale (lucky me!) Because not only would I get to try this mascara I also got it fairly cheap.
When I started to use this mascara I honestly have to say that I hated it! I really really hated it! The formula was way to wet for my liking and when 5 mins had past after i applied it, it would be under my eyes, which is the last place you want your mascara to be. I tried to use it a couple of times, but I still didn't like it. Then a couple of days ago, I got a lot of new make up and wanted to make room for and I also want to use up some of the products that I already have because they should be use, otherwise it's just a waste of money and you can't always try something new sometimes you need to say stop and then use the things that you already have.
So yesterday I sat and looked at the experience dates on my make up, which is this little jar that's open and then in the jar that might be writen '6 M' which means that when you have opened up the product then it can last for 6 months and then it's done, which is what a lot of mascara can last. Anyway I was sitting there looking through my make up and I decided to use some of the mascaras that I have because I have so many and I mainly use Cover Girl Lash Blash Volume which is the best mascara ever if you ask me, I haven't found a better mascara than that one, but that doesn't mean that I don't like to try new mascaras.
I started sorting out in my mascaras and decided to try the Voluminous again, because I need to use it up I am not just going to throw it out. So today when I was doing my make up I used the Voluminous and I was really surprised. This mascara didn't flake as it did when I just bought it. The formula has of course dried up and now it is perfect for my use and for my liking. I even tested it out, I have been to the movies and I laughed a lot during the movie and it still didn't flake or anything like that. It also does a good job at giving my lashes volume it still won't beat my Cover Girl Last Blash mascara, because that mascara has one my heart since the first time I used it.
This mascara claims that it won't clump and I don't think it does now, but the first time I used it, it really did clump. I have to say that I properly won't buy this mascara again, because I don't think it's a wonderful mascara, but it is a good mascara, and it doesn't have a funny strong smell like some mascaras does. It's a fairly good mascara and it can be used, but for me the formula needs to dry a bit before I can use it and like the result that I get. From now on I will use it until it's empty and ready to go to the trash can, but if I have to go to something important then it will be switched out with my Cover Girl Lash Blash, because I know it delivers ever time.
As you can see in the picture then it is a medium wand and it has bristles and its not a rubber wand which makes it a bit easier to apply the mascara to the outer corner of your eyelashes. I do like the brush it's easy to work with, the only thing is that you need to remember to wipe the end of the brush of on the tube before you use it otherwise you'll have way too much product on the wand and it will be placed all the wrong places.
But to make a little summary then I won't repurchase this mascara, because I think there is a lot better mascaras out there that does a better job than this mascara does on my eyelashes. I have medium eyes lashes, but with the Lash Blash mascara I am able to build my lashes up so they look pretty voluminous and long, but I think this starts to be clumpy if you build it too much on your lashes, and it just doesn't look good or at least I don't like that look on myself.
But all in all it is a good mascara when it has dried up a bit in my opinion, and who would buy a mascara open and then let it dry up a bit to use it? Then I rather buy a mascara and be able to use it right away, which is the point.
Have a good day everybody! :)
